How much of my donation goes directly
to programs that help children and their poor families?
|
On average, 93 cents of each
dollar donated goes to support projects which directly help
parents and children. Only approximately 7 cents is used for
administrative costs. |
How is
accountability in the use of funds ensured?
|
An all-volunteer board of
facilitators oversees the work of Atita Solidarity Services,
sets policies and procedures, and monitors the budget and
expenditures to ensure that funds are spent wisely. An
independent auditor may be invited. |
Who are Atita’s
supporters?
|
On average, approximately 45% of
Atita Solidarity Service’s funding comes from the local
communities who undertake fundraising drives and donate in
kind mostly. On average, approximately 55% of the
organization’s funding comes from friends, private donors,
foundations, and income generating projects. |
What will I receive
if I make a donation?
|
As a valued donor, you will
receive regular updates about the project your contribution
helped to support, and whenever possible pictures of the
project. In addition, and if you so desire, you will be placed
on Atita’s mailing list and receive information about exciting
initiatives throughout the year. |
What other ways can
I support programs to help women, men and children?
|
Atita Solidarity Service
welcomes donations, planned gifts, matching gifts, bequests,
gifts of stocks or securities, and donations or gifts in the
name of a loved one. Atita Solidarity will provide you with a
receipt for every contribution you make.

Will my name and
address be sold to other solicitors?

No. Atita Solidarity Service
does not sell, rent, or trade the names, addresses, or email
addresses of its donors. |

of medical supplies. |

alternative source of income, for a poor family.
Atita teaches identified
families how to keep the program sustainable with offspring which
helps propagate the initiative. |

clean water program, on average, per family cost based on average
water program cost per community. |

lunch or meal feeding program in a primary school for one year. |

$1200 pays for the salaries of 10 teachers in a primary school for
one year.
Atita provides scholarship
for teachers' training to improve the quality of basic education in
the targeted villages. |

the construction of a school.
This amount represents on
average costs for a one-room school or classroom in a village in the
Sudan, transport of the building material from neighbouring Uganda
or Kenya is very costly. Please feel free to contact Atita project
